The grey-headed canary-flycatcher is a small flycatcher-like bird of tropical Asia, 12 to 13 cm long, with a square crest, a grey hood, a canary-yellow belly and yellowish-green upperparts. It has a very flat bill fringed with long bristles. It is found mainly in forested habitats, where it often joins mixed-species flocks, and pairs forage for insects with flycatcher-like sallies, calling aloud (Wikipedia, general species account).

It sits in a very upright posture and the sexes look alike. It is no longer placed with the Old World flycatchers but in the fairy flycatcher family (Wikipedia, general species account).
