The pale blue flycatcher was first described by Edward Blyth in 1843. It is superficially similar to the verditer flycatcher but paler blue, with greyish underparts from throat to vent and a discontinuous black eye-patch, and both can often be found in the same locale. It lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland and montane forest across South and Southeast Asia (Wikipedia, general species account).
