Range

Java and Sumatra; Peninsular Malaysia reported

The Java forest skink was described by Duméril and Bibron in 1839 from a specimen from Java. It is recorded from Java and Sumatra, with Peninsular Malaysia also reported in older sources, so its Malaysian listing should be checked. The subspecific status of the eastern Javan form remains unclear (Reptile Database, general species account).
