The Bangka slow loris is a strepsirrhine primate native to south-western Borneo and the island of Bangka. It was originally considered a subspecies or synonym of the Bornean slow loris, and was promoted to a full species in 2013 on the basis of museum specimens and photographs showing distinct facial markings. It is distinguished by crimson-red fur on the back, light-coloured facial features, and the shape and width of the stripes of its facial markings (Wikipedia, general species account).
