The white-bellied rat snake, or brown rat snake, is a species of colubrid snake found in Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. It prefers forested habitats and is known to prey on frogs, lizards and fish. It remains still and holds its neck erect when disturbed, a threatening posture. Adults range from brown to brick-red (Wikipedia, general species account).
