Hardwicke's woolly bat is a vesper bat with smoky brown fur on the back and lighter greyish-brown fur below. The forearm is typically 31–36 mm and the ears about 11–15 mm. The wing membrane is blackish-brown but translucent, and it shows a more marked size difference in its premolars than other woolly bats (Wikipedia, general species account).
It has been reported roosting in caves and buildings in forests, foraging in residential areas and roosting on rooftops, in rattan vine leaves in Indonesia and in a bamboo thicket in the Philippines. It inhabits the forest understory, roosting in hollow trees or dead leaf clusters, and is found from Bangladesh and China through Southeast Asia (Wikipedia, general species account).
