Dendragama australis is a Sumatran tree agama described in 2017 from the trail up Gunung Dempo in South Sumatra at about 1,953 m. It lays eggs, normally four per clutch, and becomes sexually mature at around 60 mm snout–vent; eggs in pairs at up to four developmental stages suggest females lay several clutches a year. The name means southern, as it lives farther south than any of its relatives (Reptile Database, general species account).
