The black-crested Sumatran langur is a forest-dwelling primate endemic to Sumatra and several neighbouring islands. The black Sumatran langur, black-and-white langur, Raffles' banded langur and mitred langur were formerly treated as subspecies of P. melalophos, and are now recognised as separate species; the true P. melalophos is restricted to west-central Sumatra. It is threatened by habitat loss (Wikipedia, general species account).
