The white-browed shrike-babbler is found in the eastern Himalaya and Southeast Asia from northern Burma to southern Cambodia. In general appearance it is very like the Himalayan shrike-babbler. Like others in the genus it is found in montane forest, males and females have different plumages, and variation across its range has led several populations to be treated as subspecies; it was earlier called Tickell's shrike-tit and is part of a cryptic species complex (Wikipedia, general species account).
