Forested regions of tropical Asia

The rufous-bellied eagle, or rufous-bellied hawk-eagle, is a bird of prey of forested regions of tropical Asia. It is small for an eagle and contrastingly patterned like a falcon. It was earlier placed in Hieraaetus and sometimes Aquila, but was thought distinctive enough for its own genus, Lophotriorchis. Two subspecies are recognised with no marked plumage difference (Wikipedia, general species account).
